Maximum uptake for solar generation increases ‘substantially’ in FES21
Continued price reductions are expected to increase the uptake of solar panels through the late 2020s, National Grid ESO has found.

National Grid ESO's projections for solar have increased as it expects there to be "significantly higher levels of solar generation" than it predicted in its 2019 Future Energy Scenarios (FES).
Reductions in costs of solar technology, as well as co-location with increasingly cheaper storage, is set to boost solar growth in the later part of the next decade, said National Grid ESO.
Solar PV could be the UK’s most significant power generation technology by as early as 2030, with 33GW of installed capacity, according to National Grid.
