Renewable energy firm Anesco has been named the fastest growing private company in the UK, according to the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list.
The Reading-based company topped the annual table for 2013, which lists the 100 private companies whose sales have grown the fastest over the last three years.
The company’s revenue for 2013 increased by 257%, up from £21 million to £55.1 million over the last financial year. In addition, Anesco predicts that it will hit its £100 million revenue target before the financial year end in March 2014.
Commenting on the company’s ranking, Andrian Pike, CEO of Anesco, said: “2013 has been an absolutely phenomenal year for Anesco. We’ve achieved so much and that’s down to the team we’ve pulled together and all their hard work…We wouldn’t be where we are today without their dedication.”
The company has built its success through its work with businesses, local authorities and homeowners. Anesco claims that the measures installed by the company have lifted 40,000 people out of fuel poverty across the UK, with its renewable operation generating enough low-carbon electricity for more than 45,000 homes.
Looking ahead to next year, Pike remained confident that Anesco could maintain its positive momentum, he said: “2014 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year, as we expand into new markets and begin taking on our first projects outside of the UK. As an industry, energy efficiency is a great one to be in and we continue to go from strength to strength.”
