John Rennocks, chairman at Bluefield Solar Income Fund, has joined the board of alkaline fuel cell developer AFC Energy.
Surrey-based AFC Energy made the announcement in a statement to the market this morning, confirming Rennocks’ appointment as part of a wider management reshuffle.
AFC praised Rennocks’ “wealth of… energy market experience” in announcing his appointment.
"John's extensive experience of growing large publicly listed power businesses is invaluable to us as we approach a transformative period in the company's history and we are delighted that he has chosen to join our board,” chief executive Adam Bond said.
Rennocks is to replace former Conservative MP Tim Yeo as the company’s chairman. Tim Yeo has previous with the solar industry having been caught in a controversial sting by The Sunday Times, whose two journalists posed as representatives from a Chinese solar manufacturer willing to pay for parliamentary advocacy.
Yeo’s libel case against the Sunday Times was thrown out in November 2015.
