Cero Generation has hired Marta Martinez Queimadelos as its new chief executive officer, with Queimadelos having joined the board in November 2021.
Queimadelos was formerly CEO and co-founder of Spanish renewables company T-Solar, while in 1998 she co-founded telecommunications company Comunitel.
Cero chairman and head of UK and Europe, Green Investment Group (GIG), Edward Northam said: “Marta’s expertise and track record will be invaluable as we continue to grow Cero in pursuit of its mission to create a net- ero future, for this and every generation.”
Cero was launched by Macquarie’s GIG in 2021, consolidating GIG’s existing and future European solar activities. It therefore launched with a portfolio of 8GW over 150 projects across the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, France and the Netherlands, including its 1GW pipeline with Enso Energy.
Earlier this year, Enso and Cero had three 49.9MW solar and battery storage sites receive planning permission.
Queimadelos is to retain her seat on the board of Cero Generation.
She started her career at PwC, and held various management positions in the financial area of the automotive group Peugeot-Citroën.
