Enviromena has announced that its first UK solar farm, located in Winchester, has gone online.

The 25.4MW site at Three Maids Hill comprises 47,088 bifacial modules installed across 110 acres.

Planning approval for the solar farm was secured in Summer 2021, and was the clean energy solutions provider’s first fully consented development site since it entered the European market.

“Three Maids represents a major milestone in Enviromena’s history,” said Mark Harding, European development director at Enviromena.

“We have now proven that Enviromena’s fully-integrated development and operations business model, and our team, can successfully develop and safely construct attractive, bankable renewable projects in major European markets.”

The company has also attained planning approval for both additional solar and new energy storage projects across the UK and Italy.

Last November, Enviromena also confirmed that it would launch an appeal against Dorset Council’s decision to reject planning proposals for a 11.8MW solar farm, despite the site receiving “full backing” from the Dorset Planning Committee.
