HBS New Energies has signed an exclusive solar PV and electric vehicle (EV) charging deal with Bewley Homes.
The deal will see HBS install the low carbon technologies to ensure Bewley Homes’ housing developments meet all renewable energy and EV charging planning conditions where required, providing what it claims to be a cost-effective design, supply and installation service.
The agreement offers fixed rates covering a wide range of system types and sizes for both solar PV and EV charging, alongside “lucrative rebates”.
Several schemes are currently being developed, the first of which is Clockbarn Gardens. Installation of the roof-integrated solar PV systems and 52 EV chargepoints has recently begun at the housing development, which is located in the village of Send in Surrey and will offer a collection of 75 two, three and four bedroom houses.
James Bull, managing director at HBS New Energies, praised Bewley Homes as a "long established housebuilder who are committed to consistently building new homes that combine quality, sustainability and innovation", adding HBS is looking forward to supporting the team "for many years to come".
In 2019, HBS New Energies was selected by Legal & General Homes to deliver roof integrated solar PV as part of its sustainable housing development Buckler’s Park in Berkshire. That agreement saw solar installed on 37 homes, with the system sizes for houses ranging from 2.4kWp to 4.2kWp and for apartment blocks 2.4kWp to 4.6kWp.
Most recently, HBS completed an 11.65MW solar farm as part of Anglian Water’s Solar Delivery Programme, with the farm set to meet over 26% of the site - Grafham Water’s - energy consumption through a private wire connection.
