Solar stalwart Solarcentury has appointed Wolf Dietrich as its new UK general manager as the company prepares for “strong future growth” in the market.
Dietrich has been promoted to the role having worked for the company since 2013, and been responsible for the delivery of a number of Solarcentury’s large-scale ground mount and rooftop solar projects in that time.
He will now lead Solarcentury’s UK development business and said he was happy to be heading up a team that focuses on projects and goals “so close to my heart”.
“[I’m] excited to take his next step with Solarcentury and be part of a team that will shape not just our UK development during these changing times, but the future of our energy supply, aiming for a greener and sustainable future with new generations of solar and storage projects,” he said.
Neil Perry, chief financial officer at Solarcentury, said he was delighted to appoint Dietrich to the role, nodding towards an expected resurgence in the UK market.
“We are excited for the UK market as we enter a period of falling PV and storage prices [which] signals strong future growth in the sector. Under Wolf’s leadership, we trust that Solarcentury will continue to play a leading role in the UK’s renewable energy sector,” Perry said.
