Smart energy technology company SolarEdge is launching Smart Modules with integrated Power Optimisers in the UK.
The modules combine the optimisers with split-cell technology, increasing performance and durability the company said. The range includes 355-360W all-black modules and 370W black-framed modules.
It will be the first time SolarEdge’s Smart Modules have been available in the UK following a rollout in Australia and the rest of Europe, and it marks an important milestone in the company’s residential strategy.
Christelle Barnes, UK country manager at SolarEdge, said they were excited to introduce the modules to the UK, adding that “residential customers all over the world are looking for higher performing, more reliable solutions that enable them to harness the power of solar".
“At the same time, SolarEdge remains committed to helping installers work more efficiently and more profitably. The Smart Module series meets these needs by offering the proven benefits of our DC-optimised solution in an aesthetically-pleasing and easy-to-install package. With this launch, we are now a step closer to achieving our goal to provide residential customers with an end-to-end solar energy management solution that can grow in line with their evolving energy needs.”
The launch follows SolarEdge introducing its next generation of commercial three phase inverters in the UK and Ireland. This included 30kW and 33.3kW three phase inverters for 230/400V grids.
Solar Power Portal caught up with Barnes recently to discuss how the company’s Integrated Power Optimisers differ from traditional string inverters, and how the routes to market are changing in the UK.
