German PV manufacturer SOLARWATT is gearing up for UK growth with the appointment Trevor Treleven as technical support and sales engineer.

Treleven is to work with UK sales manager Neal Goddard to provide expert technical support and advice to the company’s installer and partner network throughout the UK and Ireland.

It comes as SOLARWATT has seen “exponential growth” in its sale numbers, with the appointment another step in “fulling our ambitious goals and gaining market share”, according to Goddard.

The company is looking to quadruple its 2020 figures, having achieved 100% growth compared to the previous year. This comes after the company outlined plans in 2019 to step up its presence in the UK solar and storage markets with a raft of new initiatives designed at leveraging how “receptive” the UK is to energy storage. Since then, it has launched a smart solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging offering in the UK in partnership with Austrian e-mobility solutions manufacturer Keba. It also teamed up with Centregreat Group last December to develop solar-powered EV carports with built-in battery packs.

Commenting on his new appointment, Treleven said that with the green energy revolution well underway, it’s “great to be part of a team playing such a strong role in it”.

Treleven has previously worked in senior technical roles for a number of solar PV, solar mounting and energy storage providers. Prior to this, he was an IT engineer, working in industry and for central government.
